Should You Let Recent Law Changes Effect Your Phoenix Car Donation?

No doubt there is a great need in our country to get rid of unwanted cars. Among the many reasons to want to be rid of one getting a newer car is probably the most common. Car donations in Phoenix have seen a slight drop since the government put into effect in 2004 that you can only claim what your car is sold for by the charities.

With the many reasons that you may find yourself able to donate a car such as its no longer needed, a death in the family or it’s no longer economically smart for you to keep it perhaps the biggest reason you should want to donate is to help the less fortunate.

Car donations should be thought through long and hard. Make sure your doing it for the right reasons. If you are than the tax deduction law change won’t affect your decision in any way. But whatever you decide make sure to put plenty of research into it so that you find the right charity. Find a charity that benefits a need you can either relate to or feel needs more aid than it is getting.

On the note of finding the right charity you should consult family, friends, the phonebook and even the internet to perform a complete search into the charity your considering. Make sure the one you choose has no overhead or middleman. Meaning that the entire amount earned for your car will be in fact used where it’s needed and not just part of it while the other part is lining someone’s pocket. Call around, don’t be shy about asking detailed questions and only after you have done these things should you feel comfortable enough to choose a charity to donate your car to. Only after you have made sure you chose a worthy cause will you know the feeling of complete satisfaction that you are helping people that may not be as capable as yourself.
